The Australian Youth Orchestra

AYO National Music Camp
3-17 January 2010
Canberra, ACT

AYO National Music Camp is an annual training program of the Australian Youth Orchestra, and a thriving community for Australia’s best young musicians, arts administrators, composers and music journalists.

Since 1948, AYO National Music Camp has been an Australian institution, where more than 200 young musicians from every state and territory commit themselves to over 80 hours of rehearsals, tutorials, industry experience and concert performances. Australian percussionist and AYO alumnis, Tim White, will direct this year’s National Music Camp. He will be joined by internationally acclaimed conductors Lawrence Renes, Lutz Koehler, Canberra-born cellist Howard Penny and some of the best music tutors from Australia and abroad.

The result of their work is showcased each January in the celebrated AYO National Music Camp Free Concert Series. We welcome you to join us and be inspired by the music camp experience, and to share in the achievements of these talented young, emerging artists.
